88Upright is the unique duo of keyboardist, vocalist, and composer John Eric Copeland, and bassist Pat Gallo, one of the premiere bass players in Orlando. Together, they provide a unique experience with just piano and bass, and also adding vocals in.
Both are teachers and studio musicians as well, so they have many stories to bring each song to life. Where did the song come from? What’s the story behind it?
Besides that that, Pat and Eric just have FUN! You’ll enjoy the interplay between these two professionals whether it’s a jazz standard, a pop hit, an original take on a Disney classic, or a technically mind-blowing piece that you’ve never heard, but will love!
88Upright also features the diverse original works of John Eric Copeland, whose compositions and productions have been featured on multiple Billboard Jazz Top 30 singles and Watercolors satellite radio. His soothing Quiet Soul Piano brand is gaining a worldwide audience on top solo piano stations like Whisperings and SoloPiano.com
Pat is one of the busiest bassists in Orlando playing for multiple groups in the jazz, pop, and also church venues. He also is a Music professor and artist in residence at Central Florida colleges.
88Upright is preparing its first album for release, and will debut their first single and video “Jouer (To Play)” in June!
